If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way John Denver
*UPDATES*
I think it's time some major changes were made around here.
For starters, last week I featured an anime artist for all the wayward anime fans out there and apparently that was a popular thing to do. So from now on there will be a featured artist in my this journal. This is primarily because, ever single friggin' month I run across tomes of new lovely art, and feel that, yes, a lot of them get proper complement via their comment boxes, but there still just aren't enough people who know about them, who would probably love to see their art. Plus, you see their little icons floating around on everybody's journal screens, but do you know anything about them? No. You just have to click. But don't despair! Here it will no longer be entirely the case...
This week's (the 1st/2nd EVER!!!) featured artist is:
If I had to sum up this artist in seven words, I would say, "Strange earthtone anime-inspired critter people in love." It's the classic story of "Fruits Basket" meets "The Last Unicorn", and so many pictures of couples it's like springtime all year long...when you visit her gallery, you first objections may go like this: "Agh! the cuteness! it's too cute! NO! No, i can't take this--No...no...oh.....it's a uni-girl.......with faeries, how precious...

"
Yes it is. But the quality is there, too. The light in her art is magnificent, the colors are quite unique to the subject, and the expressiveness of character in her art is conveyed in every way, right down to the body language of a squirming little fox child. There is also considerable thought put into the subtle garments on all of her subjects, where each and every fold falls exactly where it would given that Mugen was standing right in your own personal dojo (yes, she does some fanart, too--and it's just the kind of quality fanart a diehard fan would spend hours surfing the web in hopes of finding...it's the kind of fanart that makes me think about drawing fanart, which is really saying something, so now, if i do--you know who is responsible for it).
(my) Top 3 fav pics by Klar include:
[link] "Beach Side Property" On two counts. 1) because it's named after a Modest Mouse song, and 2) because it's foxes, and that's my weakness.
[link] "mae" glowy green goodness.
and
[link] "Yes" because you really can't get enough of Mugen and Jin. Or maybe you can. but i bet it was a struggle, wasn't it? attending meetings, going through the 12 steps program, falling back into a relapse again and again as you walked by the TV and someone somewhere was playing that show and laughing, and you just had to sit down and watch...couldn't stop yourself...even after telling yourself, hey man, i've seen this show a million times, it's going no where--there just aren't enough episodes, but somehow you STILL couldn't move on...
Yes, just like Firefly and Carnivale.
Alright. Well, here is is, go forth and love her up.
Also, look forward to new links for online cinema and the like. Irregularly. As always.
I considered mentioning this...

indeed there will be time For the yellow smoke that slides along the street, Rubbing its back upon the window-panes; There will be time, there will be time To prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet; There will be time to murder and create.
Take care

All profits from the film go directly to the artist. No distributor, no bullshit. I also got some amazing artists to do limited edition covers for it as well. Thanks for your support, Mike
